BIG NEWS: THE FUTURE OF AG STARTS WITH YOU!

The world of agriculture is evolving fast, and there’s never been a better time to put your skills, passion, and ideas to work!
 
This year, we’re cranking up the excitement by revamping our scholarship program, offering TWO unique scholarships designed to celebrate both the animal and business-minded ag leaders and the creative communicators shaping the future of pork.
 
We’re awarding three winners for each scholarship, meaning six incredible students will take home prestigious scholarships. Read eligibility details and apply below.

Please note: Applicants may apply for both scholarships, but can only be selected for one. No applicant will be chosen for both.

The Voice of Pork Scholarship supports creative students who are passionate about sharing the story of pork and agriculture. Whether your interests lie in communications, marketing, public relations, or education, this scholarship honors students with a vision for engaging consumers and promoting pork in innovative ways. We’re seeking bold thinkers with fresh ideas—leaders who will shape the future of pork promotion, strengthen the industry’s brand, and connect with audiences in meaningful ways.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Students who are passionate about communication and agriculture
  • Creative minds with a knack for captivating storytelling
  • The next generation of influencers, marketers, and communicators shaping the future of pork
  • Applicants with an eye for using modern tools like social media, video, and digital content to engage audiences

Basic Information:

  • Three Winners Total
    • One $4,000 scholarship
    • One $1,500 scholarship
    • One $1,000 scholarship
  • Winners have an additional $500 opportunity for attending key events, including:
    • Young Leaders in Agriculture Conference
    • Volunteering or supervising at the Minnesota State Fair
    • Attending the Minnesota Pork Congress Awards Reception
  • Judging: Applications will be reviewed by a committee of Minnesota pig farmers. Applications are judged on basis of clarity and expression, persuasiveness, originality and relevance of topic.
  • Deadline: Applications are due by May 15.
  • Winners: Selected by June 1 and notified by phone.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a high school senior, college student, or graduate student pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, public relations, education, or a related field.
  • Must demonstrate an interest in the pork industry (through coursework, internships, farm experience, FFA/4-H, research, etc.).
  • Must be a resident of Minnesota.

The Growing Ag Scholarship supports students who are dedicated to advancing the agricultural industry through effective solutions and innovative thinking. Whether your focus is on animal science, ag business, veterinary medicine, farm management, public policy, or ag law, this scholarship honors students with a passion for driving positive change in agriculture. We’re looking for forward-thinking leaders who are ready to tackle the challenges facing the industry and make an impact through new ideas and practical solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Future leaders who will contribute to the growth and sustainability of the agricultural industry
  • Creative thinkers eager to address the challenges of modern agriculture
  • Applicants with an interest in using innovation and practical solutions to create lasting impact in agriculture

    • One $1,500 scholarship
    • One $1,000 scholarship
